Young Uzbek weightlifters finish the Asian Championships with 51 medals
The Asian Youth & Junior Weightlifting Championships, held at the Olympic Village in Tashkent, have come to an end. On the final day of competition, medals were contested in the heaviest weight category. In the over-110kg category among youth athletes, Uzbekistan’s Omadillo Olimov won gold medals in the clean and jerk and in the total.
Over the eight days of competition, representatives of Uzbekistan won the following medals:
Youth:
🥇 7 gold medals
🥈 10 silver medals
🥉 6 bronze medals
Total — 23 medals
Juniors:
🥇 6 gold medals
🥈 8 silver medals
🥉 14 bronze medals
Total — 28 medals
In addition, our athletes finished first in the team standings in four categories:
— overall points among youth athletes;
— points among female athletes;
— overall points among juniors;
— points among male athletes.
