Today, Uzbekistan celebrates the birthdays of two remarkable athletes who have made the nation proud on the world stage.

Akbar Jurayev — the renowned weightlifter, Olympic champion and record holder of the Tokyo 2020 Games, silver medalist of the Paris 2024 Olympics, two-time world champion, and holder of the honorary titles “Honored Athlete of the Republic of Uzbekistan” and “Pride of Uzbekistan” — marks his special day today.

Also celebrating his birthday is Rustam Tulaganov — bronze medalist of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in boxing, medalist of the Asian Championships, and “Honored Athlete of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”

The National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan extends its warmest congratulations to both athletes, wishing them strong health, continued success, and prosperity in all their endeavors.
