Promising Start for Uzbekistan’s Young Judokas at the World Championships
The World Junior Judo Championships kicked off in Lima, Peru, with a strong performance from Uzbekistan’s team. On the opening day, our athletes claimed two bronze medals. Samariddin Kuchkarov finished third in the men’s 60 kg category, while Laziza Khaydarova earned bronze in the women’s 48 kg division.

FIE Honors Two Uzbek Women
The International Fencing Federation (FIE) announced its annual awards, recognizing the world’s top performers. Two Uzbek representatives were among the honorees. Esteemed referee Dilorom Turdikulova was named one of the top three épée judges globally, while Gulistan Perdibaeva — the world’s No. 1 youth sabre fencer — was awarded Best Athlete of the Year in her discipline.

Uzbek Taekwondo Team Shines at “Albania Open”
In Tirana, Uzbekistan’s taekwondo team delivered an impressive performance at the G1-ranked “Albania Open.” Our athletes captured a total of 15 medals — 10 gold, 1 silver, and 4 bronze — securing first place in the overall team standings. The competition served as a valuable test ahead of the upcoming World Championships.

Volleyball Team Wins Silver at CAVA Championship
The CAVA Women’s Volleyball Championship 2025 concluded at the Olympic Town in Tashkent. Competing against the region’s top national teams, Uzbekistan reached the final, where they faced Iran. After an intense match, the visiting team claimed victory, leaving Uzbekistan with a well-deserved silver medal.
