As previously reported, the Central Asian Badminton Championships began in Tashkent. Today, the official opening ceremony of the tournament took place.

The event was attended by the Minister of Ecology of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Chairman of the Badminton Federation of Uzbekistan A. Abdukhakimov, Minister of Sports A. Ikramov, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation K. Sharipov, First Deputy Chairman of the NOC O. Umarov, as well as representatives of the Asian Badminton Federation. They highlighted Uzbekistan’s achievements in the development of sports and wished success to the participants.

It should be recalled that the championships will continue until September 22 and bring together about 100 athletes from 7 countries. The competitions are being held in the U15, U17 and U23 age categories. According to the program, winners and medalists will be determined in team, singles, doubles and mixed events.
