The city of Lucerne, Switzerland, is hosting a stage of the Rowing World Cup — and history has been made for Team Uzbekistan.
For the first time ever, an Uzbek rower has reached the podium at this prestigious international event. In the LM1x (lightweight single sculls) category, Paris 2024 Olympian Shahzod Nurmatov delivered a strong performance, finishing third and securing a bronze medal.
