Abdukodir Khusanov Makes History at FIFA Club World Cup
The FIFA Club World Cup is underway in the United States, and Abdukodir Khusanov has made history as the first Uzbek footballer to feature in the tournament. In the second-round match, Manchester City, led by Pep Guardiola, defeated UAE’s Al Ain with a commanding 6–0 victory. Khusanov played 61 minutes, contributing to the team’s dominant performance.
Kirsty Coventry Becomes IOC President
A landmark moment for the Olympic Movement: after 11 years at the helm, Thomas Bach officially steps down as President of the International Olympic Committee. Taking his place is Kirsty Coventry of Zimbabwe — the first woman in history to lead the IOC. Her appointment marks a new chapter in Olympic leadership.
