Uzbek Hand-to-Hand Fighters Triumph at International Competitions
From May 29 to June 3, the World Hand-to-Hand Combat Championship among adults was held in Bursa, Türkiye. The Uzbekistan national team delivered an outstanding performance, winning 8 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
In addition, from June 3 to 8, the World Sports Games took place in Loutraki, Greece, where Uzbekistan’s hand-to-hand fighters claimed another 13 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze medal.
It is important to note that Uzbekistan took first place in the overall team standings at both tournaments.
Today, the Ministry of Sports held an official award ceremony for the athletes and coaches who excelled in these international events. The ceremony was attended by leaders of the military organizations in which the athletes serve, as well as officials from the Ministry of Sports, the National Olympic Committee, and the Hand-to-Hand Combat Federation.
Officials congratulated the athletes on their outstanding achievements and wished them continued success. Based on their results, military ranks, honorary badges, and commemorative gifts were awarded to the athletes and coaches.
