Tashkent is currently hosting the 1st Open Central Asian Swimming Championship, drawing athletes from five countries. The competition will run through May 23.

A festive opening ceremony was held at the Uzbekistan Federation of Trade Unions’ Palace of Water Sports, the main venue for the championship. The event was attended by government officials, public figures, and Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, Oybek Kasimov.

Following the ceremony, the day's final races got underway. In thrilling showdowns, national team standouts Eldor Usmanov and Anastasiya Zelinskaya claimed gold medals in their respective events, delivering strong performances for Team Uzbekistan.
