Uzbekistan to Host OCA General Assembly for the First Time
It was officially announced during the 45th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) that Uzbekistan will host the prestigious event for the first time in 2026. The proposal, put forward by OCA Director General Husain Al-Musallam, to hold the General Assembly in Tashkent was unanimously supported by all participants — a testament to Uzbekistan’s growing influence in international sports and its commitment to the Olympic movement.
The General Assembly serves as the highest decision-making body of the OCA, bringing together representatives from the National Olympic Committees of all 45 member nations. The 2026 session in Tashkent will focus on key strategic decisions concerning the development of sport across the continent, future policy directions, and strengthening Olympic values.
It is worth noting that Tashkent successfully hosted the OCA Executive Board Meeting in 2022, further demonstrating the city’s capability to organize high-level international sports events.
