A key step taken toward advancing the Olympic movement and aquatic sports in Uzbekistan

The National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan hosted a high-ranking delegation that included President of World Aquatics and Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Husain Al-Musallam, First Vice President of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) and President of the Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Joaan Al-Thani, as well as OCA Vice President Thani Abdulrahman Al-Kuwari.

On behalf of Uzbekistan, the meeting was attended by Minister of Sports Adkham Ikramov, First Vice President of the NOC and OCA Vice President Otabek Umarov, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions Council, and Head of Uzbekistan Aquatics Kudratilla Rafikov.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed the development of the Olympic movement and aquatic sports in Uzbekistan. The guests highlighted the growing international interest in the achievements of Uzbek athletes and expressed satisfaction with the dynamic strengthening of cooperation with the country.

Special attention was given to plans for the development of aquatic sports. Key areas included improving the qualifications of specialists through international seminars and training programs, as well as introducing modern methods for preparing athletes for major international competitions.
