Ruslan Abdullaev Returns to Tashkent with Continental Americas Gold Belt in Hand
On April 19, in a thrilling night of professional boxing held in California, USA, Uzbekistan’s rising star Ruslan Abdullaev delivered a commanding performance against the Philippines’ Gino Rodrigo, claiming the WBA Continental Americas Gold title in the super lightweight division.
Today, Abdullaev returned home to a hero’s welcome. At Tashkent’s Islam Karimov International Airport, he was greeted by Deputy Minister of Sports of Uzbekistan Shakhrullo Makhmudov, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee Oybek Kasimov, Secretary General of the Boxing Federation Shohid Tillaboev, along with his family and loved ones.
Officials congratulated the young boxer on securing his second professional victory and wished him continued success and glory as he climbs the ladder toward global boxing greatness.
