Today's hero of the project "They will defend the honor of the country in Tokyo" is the representative of the Uzbek taekwondo team WT Nikita Rafalovich. For the two-time finalist of the World Taekwondo World Cup, the Tokyo Olympics will be the second in a row.

Nikita Igorevich Rafalovich was born on October 10, 1993 in Tashkent. Master of sports of international class in Taekwondo.

Since 2000, he has been studying under the guidance of Alexander Kim. His current mentor is Maxim Rafalovich (brother). In 2008, he joined the junior national team, and since 2010-a member of the adult national team.

Rafalovich's success in the international arena began in 2014. That year, he won bronze at the Asian Championships in Tashkent, and silver at the Asian Games in Incheon.

2015 was a very fruitful and successful year for our national team. This is also Nikita's merit, he became a silver medalist at the World Championships in Chelyabinsk.

At the 2016 Asian Championship in the Philippines, he was awarded a silver medal. Also, in the licensed tournament, he won a ticket to Rio 2016. At the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, the taekwondo practitioner enriched his experience.

In 2017, in the world Championship, he again reached the final. Unfortunately, he lost again in the decisive battle and became the silver medalist for the second time.

At the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia, he won and made a significant contribution to the success of the Uzbek delegation in the team competition.

During his entire professional career, Nikita Rafalovich became a two-time silver medalist of the World Cup, won bronze 3 times at tournaments from the "Grand Prix" series, won 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals in prestigious continental competitions. According to the results of the announced Olympic rating of the International Taekwondo Federation (WT) on January 1, 2020, he was awarded a ticket (in the weight category -80 kg) to the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
