
Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) has recognized Uzbekistan Boxing Federation as the Best among its 44 member federations. Uzbekistan Boxing Federation has received this high appreciation for the significant contribution to development and promotion of boxing not only in Uzbekistan, but also in Asia.
The recognition came soon after success of the Sydney Jackson Memorial held in Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent in May. The Memorial was originally held for local boxers to pay tribute to Sydney Jackson who was the founder of boxing in Uzbekistan. This year following the efforts of Uzbekistan Boxing Federation, Sydney Jackson Memorial welcomed international participants. World-famous Uzbek boxing and possibility to take part in the event immediately attracted attention of world elite boxers. On conclusion of the competitions, the representatives of ASBC who attended Sydney Jackson Memorial highly appreciated organizational level of the tournament performed by the host Federation.

Uzbekistan Boxing Federation aims to develop all aspects of boxing, and of course pays important attention to training and upgrading of the local referees and judges. Thus, within the frameworks of the Sydney Jackson Memorial the training seminar for referees and judges was organized by the Federation, and the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan welcomed the participants at its headquarters. The seminar was held by the experts of international level: AIBA Refereeing & Judging Commission Member, ASBC Technical Delegate for Sydney Memorial Tournament Mr Herbert Embuldeniya, AIBA and ASBC Executive Committee Member Ms. Nieva Embuldeniya. On conclusion of the seminar the experts prized high level of the Uzbek referees and judges, stating that their knowledge and experience meet the international standards.
